Planter Boxes

Planter boxes are an excellent way to improve the look of your property, specifically your garden and backyard or your windows.
They are perfect for those who just want to spruce up the look of their house or garden signifiganty but do it with very little effort. There are also indoor planter boxes that can make your rooms look nicer.
Planter boxes are usually made out of wood or plastic, so it's difficult to find some made out of stone or other materials.
You will want to get one made of plastic lumber or a stone one, (if you can find it) if you're going to get one for your garden or backyard, because it will endure bad weather better than a wood one, plastic lumber is also the easiest to maintain and keep it looking new. If you're looking for a planter box for windows, either wood or plastic will work fine, but wood will deteriorate slightly faster. It wise to get a wood planter box if you want it inside, it will have a more natural feel to it and be aesthetically more pleasing.

Here, you can see some standard wooden planter boxes, the smaller ones are mean't to be used for windows(and flowers obviously), they can be used seperately for smaller windows or stacked next to each other for large windows. They give a nice old-timey look to your windows.
The large ones are meant for gardens and can also be used inside. But I don't recommend wooden planter boxes for outside use, if you don't live in a dry place. Some wooden boxes can be treated with special chemicals that will make them more resiliant. These are pretty standard ones, when you just want to spice up your garden but not take a huge risk by buying colorful ones that are very noticeable.

Here you can see the standard indoor black planter box for beautifying you rooms. This one is Indoors only, it will take damage if it spends long durations of time outside. It's perfect for just putting in the corner and having the feel of being closer to nature.
The second one is a custom made swan planter box, since it's porcelain it can be used indoors and outdoors. Before buying it, make sure it fits with the other things in your room/garden, because it's of a very specific design.

As you can see, the one on the top is a standard garden plastic planter box. It is intended for outdoor use but can be used indoors if it suits the room. This is pretty standard and thus can be used without fear of making your garden look to tacky.
The second one is used strictly for rails on your porch or any other place you might have rails, it's an easy way to make your veranda a slightly nicer place to stay in the summer.

It is also possible to make your own wooden planter box, but you'll need some materials and quite a bit of carpentry skills. Results will be just as good as your skill. A step by step instruction can be found here.
